September 2000 Summer Celebration: 29 to 31 December 2000 A mini Capernwray program is to be held 29 to 31 December 2000, as an alternative to our traditional full-scale Summer School. The idea is to create an inspiring 3 days - a time that is perhaps more accessible, time-wise, especially given the quite full program in store over the next 12-18 months. Local speakers will include Lynton Allan, and Keith Adams for a refreshing and encouraging mini program in the 'Capernwray Queensland' style which so many of us have come to love. The venue will be Camp Tamborine, Mt Tamborine Convention Centre (the location, in fact, of our first Capernwray Qld program some 13 years ago!). Enclosed brochure gives details. Capernwray will combine with Mt Tamborine Convention to present a wonderful program of ministry and fellowship with Charles Price and Hans Peter Royer. Mark this in your diary and make sure you are there; anticipate a precious time of fellowship, reflection and motivation. It will be held at the Convention Centre, Beacon Road, North Tamborine. Spring School 2001 -; awaiting confirmation from Bob Hobson. 2002 - Summer School - Charles Price and Johan Schep have confirmed. Further possibilities are in train for programs with speakers Bob and Amy George and Sonny Westbrook. Watch for the further details on the above.. Information on Lynton Allan Lynton continues to be a source of friendship, encouragement and inspiration as people 'walk in' to his Gallery in the Old Burleigh Arcade, 'See Change'. Lynton and his family continue to need our support as Lynton's presence at the Gallery means that he is not gaining the financial support that his more itinerant ministry attracts. While Lynton selectively maintains some travelling work, this part of his ministry has reduced as he balances his various roles, including family commitments. Please regard these issues in your prayers and contribute to their support if you will. We commend Lynton, Marjo and family to you that you might consider ways you might assist in making possible the continuation of Lynton's ministry, chiefly centred on the Gold Coast. Jody Nelson and the boys Jody is going though a more settled phase but the ache without Mike is real. Further finance is needed if bringing Jody and the boys to Australia briefly in May 2001 is to be a reality. Thank you to those who have already responded. Your gifts will go directly to Jody and the boys for a gift of, or towards, airfares. The plan is a small token of thanks and friendship as we recall Jody and sons, Jonathan, David and Brandon sparing Mike on so many occasions over so many years. All contributions will be welcome, should this be something to which you feel you can contribute. Jody says that her job at the company where Mike last worked is stable and that she is thankful for it. She and the boys have moved to a modest rented place, and her mother is closer now. The boys are trying to pick up the threads of their studies and activities. Dynamic Outreach Capernwray Tape distribution was initiated many years ago by Graham and Maralyn Phillips whose wonderful open-house and open-hearted ways are a blessing to many. The ministry goes from strength to strength today with Bruce and Beverley Tulloch telling of heartwarming stories of folks reached and blessed through the tape and book ministry. This edition, we wish to publicly thank these folks who are demonstrating such joy in their availability to Christ in this dynamic area of the Queensland work. We close with their message and the encouragement it is to all of us that it's not so much where we are, but who we are, and Who is at the helm of our lives for life to be rich and fulfilling. The Tullochs write: Dear Friends Greetings from the book and tape centre. We are being kept busy with orders from people who are sharing their faith with friends and family - especially those who have recently grasped the concept of Christ living in us and working through us. It is so encouraging when we receive letters and 'phone calls telling us how much the tapes and books have helped them and changed their life! A couple of months ago four ladies drove all the way from Casino to purchase material for their Bible study, excited at seeing the topics and titles available. These ladies didn't know that we were voluntary workers who operated from our home - they assumed we were a shop which was always open. The providential aspect was that we had returned from holiday the previous evening so fortunately we were home. A friend of a friend went to Perth and shared some Bob George material with a lady there. She has now sent four orders for more material and is sharing with her Fellowship group. We are enjoying in-depth phone conversations with her. A person in a country town in New South Wales obtained a copy of some Charles Price tapes. These have now been shared with so many people who have wanted their own sets. There must be about 15 sets in homes in that one town. The feedback is very positive - they are loving the messages presented by Charles. Recently we received a shipment of 'Classic Christianity' and 'CC. Study Guides' from Bob George to replenish our stocks. This is a great book to share with others or for our own library. Charles' two books have been reprinted with new titles and covers. They are now called 'Stop Trying to Live for Jesus' and 'Christ in You'. However, the content is still the same. We have new stocks of these books. Many people have appreciated the special offer of $20 for the set of 8 study guides in the 'Closer Look At…' series. This offer is still available and they can also be purchased separately. It is wonderful that Mike Nelson's vibrant personality and messages lives on with tapes and videos. Many people have taken the opportunity to remember Mike in this way and share his message with others. All the sets on the catalogue are still available. We personally shared a wonderful time of fellowship with Sonny at the end of June. We now look forward to a time of sharing and fellowship in December at Mt Tamborine.
