Bible Knowledge The purpose of this module is to provide participants with knowledge of the Bible and understanding of the doctrines of the Christian faith so that, as Christians, they are competent for lay ministry in church, para- church and mission organisations. This module gives knowledge of the teaching and themes of selected books of the Bible (both Old and New Testaments) and the doctrines of the Christian faith. Content includes:
2. Hermeneutics The purpose of this module is to provide participants with skills for self-study of the Bible, using limited resources, so that they can further increase their Bible knowledge, which is foundational for practical ministries in Christian organisations. The purpose is also to develop ongoing skills in personal Bible study and application. 3. Practical Ministries The purpose of this module is to provide participants with skills in communication, group dynamics, evangelism and application of Biblical principles to contemporary situations for basic lay ministry in church, para-church or mission situations. Participants are assigned to local churches for the duration of the course, and worship at that church. The church leaders assign participants to particular ministries within the church for work experience. These assignments are assessed at the end of the course. All participants will be involved in a period of mission and other outreaches with participating churches, led by the school staff. Skills required for these workplace experiences will be taught, practiced and assessed at the school. There will be reflection between staff and students on outreach and mission experiences. Music Ministry Under the leadership and direction of our Music Director, Steve Woods, those students who wish to participate, learn how to lead worship, be a part of a music team and are skilled in their particular instrument. The Bible School has a selection of good quality guitars, a keyboard, drum kit and percussion instruments. Most mornings and every Sunday Night those in the Music Team rostered on, lead the staff and students in worship. There is also the opportunity to play in Services in local churches and on Outreach.
